Wallaby on the loose in Gloucestershire



A wallaby is on the loose in Gloucestershire after evading police.

The animal was spotted in the Dursley area on Saturday night and Gloucestershire Police is appealing for its owner to come forward.

According to Sky News, the wallaby was confused with a kangaroo but police have corrected their appeal.

Officers do not know where the animal came from.

A mob of wallabies is kept at Woodchester, around eight miles from Dursley.

There have been sightings in Nailsworth.

On its Facebook page, Gloucestershire Police: "Bit of an unusual one. If anyone has lost a kangaroo in the Dursley area please contact us on 101 and quote incident 462. We have found one."

Then: "Kangaroo update - we have it cornered 'outback' of a house in Woodmancote but no owner identified yet."

And finally: "Not the usual bouncers that we're interacting with on a Saturday night."
