A passenger has captured the moment a Ryanair plane came close to being hit by a UFO.

The footage was captured by a Dutch woman on a plane heading for Spain, and appears to show a black flying object come close to the plane's wing, before the pilot makes a sharp turn, apparently to avoid it, reports the Daily Star.

The footage, which we first spotted at the Mirror, has been viewed around 150,000 times, and was uploaded to YouTube by Lions Ground. It was titled: "Hostile UFO captured by Dutch passenger of Ryanair plane (Netherlands)."

The caption read: "A Dutch passenger captured UFO on video while on board the Ryanair airbus Netherlands (Eindhoven), heading to Spain. Coincidentally, the passenger was recording because she enjoyed the view. After 4 minutes recording this UFO event happened. The engines made a lot of noise and the pilot made suddenly a sharp maneuver. The UFO endangered the aircraft. A lot of panic was on that plane."

A YouTube user called Turkey UFO Incident wrote: "Not too sure about this one, could be a bird."

One other user echoed that sentiment, writing: "Birds travelling the other way."

Another person wrote: "It wasn't hostile, if it was hostile it could have taken out that plane. The UFO was just playing, the pilot did avoid it, it was too fast - the UFO avoided the jet!"

One man thought it could be a drone, and wrote: "Still could be a military drone. Nothing definitive without being able to slow it down more. Nice Capture though!"

And one man was sticking with aliens, writing: "Aliens are here and they are plant-like insectoid beings designed for high speed space travel. They do get hungry and ingest through an exoskeleton membrane and have a defense system built in which makes human contact a difficult challenge."

What do you think? Is it a bird? Or a drone? And is the video even real? Leave your thoughts below.
