Tenor Russell Watson ties the knot in Spain

Tenor Russell Watson has married Louise Harris, the woman he credits with changing his life, at a fairytale ceremony in Spain.

The couple said "I do" during an intimate ceremony held at mountain village Benahavis in southern Spain.

"Louise has taught me many things but most of all how to love," the 48-year-old told Hello! Magazine. "I have never been more content. It really is a fairytale ending."

Watson, known as The People's Tenor, has battled two brain tumours, the first of which was initially diagnosed in 2006.

He met Harris in a restaurant in Alderley Edge in their home county and they got engaged in December 2013.

She wore a wedding gown designed by Ronald Joyce and shoes from Jimmy Choo.

"They make my heart skip a beat every time I look at them," said the 27-year-old.

"Jimmy Choo said to me, 'Louise, I want to design you a shoe that no one else in the world has.' I could never have imagined something so special. I've called it the Mrs Watson."

Watson describes seeing his bride for the first time as "a combination of love, happiness and pride".

He led everyone at the ceremony in song, with the hymn All Things Bright And Beautiful, and later on during their wedding celebrations also serenaded his bride with the Spanish song Grenada.

"The wedding makes everything complete. I married the man of my dreams," the new Mrs Watson told Hello!

There is no time for a long honeymoon though as Watson will be performing at Proms in the Park in London's Hyde Park on September 12. He is also currently on tour in the UK and Ireland.
