Body found in hunt for boyfriend of Tali Lennox

A body has been found in the search for Ian Jones, the boyfriend of Annie Lennox's daughter who has been missing since a kayaking accident in the US.

Tali Lennox, 22, and photographer Mr Jones, 32, were kayaking on the Hudson River, north of New York, when their vessel capsized on Saturday morning.

It is understood they managed to cling on to the kayak and stay together for up to 20 minutes but were then separated by the current.

Miss Lennox, a model and artist, was rescued by a passing boat and a search was launched for Mr Jones.

A spokesman for Dutchess County Sheriff's Office in New York confirmed that a male body had been recovered from the river and a formal identification is to take place. The search for Mr Jones has now been stood down.

Police said the pair were not wearing life jackets and that strong currents in the Hudson River are thought to have played a role in the kayak capsizing.

Earlier, Captain John Watterson of Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, said: ''Preliminary investigation has shown that a boyfriend/girlfriend couple went kayaking during the early morning hours, and at some point the kayak capsized and they both went into the water.

"The male is identified as Ian Jones and the female as Tali Fruchtmann, both of New York City."

Miss Lennox also uses the surname Fruchtmann after her film-maker father Uri.

Marine patrols and dive teams were involved in the search along with a New York State Police helicopter and numerous officers on foot and in boats.
