Search teams have found a body in their hunt for a young man who went missing after getting into difficulties in a river.

The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, got into trouble after entering the Jubilee River at The Myrke in Datchet, Berkshire, at around 7pm on Friday.

Members of the public who tried to join the search mission were told by police to stay out of the water to avoid getting into difficulties as search teams tried to find the man.

Superintendent Kate Ford, of Thames Valley Police, said: "Officers and our partner agencies have been conducting search activities to locate the man.

"Sadly, a body has now been recovered from the water and is believed to be the man for whom we were searching. His next of kin have been informed."
