Spectators at a bear reserve in Alaska were treated to an exceptionally passionate display from two of the reserves residents this week.

These two grizzly bears are clearly madly in love and can't keep their hands (or lips) off each other.

The two bears were spotted smooching in their enclosure and clearly they weren't too fussed about who could see them.

The frothy kissing session is thought to be a bizarre form of foreplay, which makes sense as it is mating season for the animals.

These two were engrossed in their slobbering session for a while and didn't seem to show any signs of slowing down.

According to National Geographic, these bears tend to be solitary animals - looks like these two are an exception.

The bears will make dens for winter hibernation and this is also often where the females will give birth.

These hefty animals can reach heights of around eight feet and weigh about 800lbs.
