When a British couple realised they had booked their dream holiday to Las Vegas from Glasgow in Montana instead of their home town of Glasgow in Scotland, they had the fright of their lives.

Mary and Jack McQueen, who booked their flights online, made the simple mistake of selecting Glasgow in America instead of the UK city they wanted to fly from. And they're not the only holidaymakers to make the booking blunder. One British grandmother flew to Grenada in the Caribbean instead of Granada in Spain, only realising the error when she got talking to a fellow passenger midair. She told him that she was looking forward to seeing the Alhambra Palace, to which they replied: "Not on this flight, you won't."

It's not just tourists mixing up their destinations either. One airline put a couple on a flight to Dhaka, Bangladesh instead of Dakar, Senegal.

And then there was the sports minister from Jersey, who flew to Budapest instead of Bucharest, wasting hundreds of pounds of taxpayers' money.
