A second piece of plane debris has washed ashore on the island of Reunion - just days after a wing part suspected to be from the missing flight MH370 was found on Wednesday.

It is believed the second object is possibly a plane door, which was discovered just south of the city of St Denis.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing went missing on 8 March 2014 with 239 people on board.

Until last week, extensive searches had failed to find any trace of the missing plane.

It was reported that the first piece of debris - a flaperon - found was from a Boeing 777, the same type of jet as the missing aircraft.

According to the BBC, the first piece of wreckage found on the island has been sent to Toulouse, France, where investigators will work to establish whether it is indeed a piece from the missing MH370 plane.

Sky News reports that the latest find, the plane door, is thought to have Chinese and Malaysian writing on it.

A number of Investigators believe that someone on board MH370 deliberately flew the aircraft off course, but this idea has not been officially confirmed.

According to the Daily Telegraph, officials have said the wing part looks increasingly likely to be the first piece of the missing aircraft to be found. No other Boeing 777 has ever crashed in that part of the world.
