Worker disciplined over 'beer can', turns out it's a sex toy

A US office worker has been officially told off for having a can of beer at work - but the contents turned out to be far worse than alcohol.

The customer service employee, Ron, was caught with what appeared to be a can of Chinese lager at his workplace and a disciplinary action form was filled in.

Ron claimed the can was a present from his grandfather that he had forgotten was there. The can was confiscated, and Ron was placed on probation.

But as Ron has now revealed on image-sharing site Imgur, he got off very lightly - as the can was disguising something far worse. Hidden inside was what's known as a fleshlight - a sex toy aimed at men. "Good thing they didn't try to open it...," he says.

His post has attracted some (probably fake) bewilderment: "Is that a Teletubby mouth in a can?" one commenter asks. Another points out: "Should have just showed it was a fleshlight, that probably isn't in the employee handbook...yet.."

Sex at the office is bad enough, but there's something particularly icky about this case. Unfortunately, it seems that pleasuring yourself at work isn't all that rare.

A US construction worker was fired for doing it in 2013, and just a couple of months ago, a Philadelphia transit officer was caught doing the same in a subway car.

Sometimes, the perpetrators are the most unlikely of people, such as Chicago man Tim Margis, who was caught using a female colleague's shoe for his fun. He was fired from his job as director of public safety at Concordia University, a private Lutheran college.

In one case, though, an employee actually confessed to the use of a sex aid, in the belief that it would help save his job. After the Miami Beach Police Department reprimanded cop Reinaldo Casas for a series of offences including negligence, they gave him a drugs test that turned out positive.

His excuse? That he'd been performing badly in bed and had resorted to a 'sex cream' - that he claimed had caused the positive result.
