A stunning Scottish island estate has been put up for sale for less than the average price of a house in London's Tower Hamlets.

The Aird Bheag Estate can be found on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and is on the market for just £375,000 while the average price in Tower Hamlets in £380,000 according to the Greater London Authority.

The estate is set in 2754 acres of Scottish countryside in the south west corner of the island, just off the north western coast of Scotland.

Aird Bheag sits on two headlands on the shores of Loch Tamanavay, Loch Resort and Loch Tealasavay.

The lucky landowner who buys Aird Bheag will not only get thousands of acres of land but also a three bedroom house, outbuildings and a suitable space for landing helicopters.

The estate can be accessed by sea and is 45 miles from Stornoway, the main town on the island.

The Isle of Lewis is just 40 miles from mainland Scotland and can be reached easily by plane, with regular flights to Stornoway from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

The Aird Bheag estate was once a busy community with a number of traditional black houses.

The area is also home to a number of sites of important archaeological interest, including the prehistoric stone circle, Air Sleitenish.
