A floating house on the Thames is as magical as you imagined

Airbnb's latest London listing is a floating blue house in the middle of the River Thames.

Just like something straight out of an animated film, the bright house has two bedrooms, a living room, bathroom and even a garden complete with real grass, a doghouse and an apple tree.

The fully functioning Floating House is eight metres tall and weighs 70 tonnes. It will meander along the river throughout the week until 22 May.

Airbnb is offering one lucky group to spend a night in the house on Friday 22 May by entering a competition to win a stay. The four guests will enjoy spa treatments from on-demand app PRIV, as well as a private dining experience with food personally prepared by Robert Ortiz, head chef of Peruvian and Michelin-starred restaurant Lima and Lima Floral.

The installation celebrates new rules that mean Londoners can earn a 15 per cent pay rise* by sharing their homes with travellers through sites like Airbnb for up to 90 days a year.
