A plea for funds to help survivors of the Nepal earthquake disaster has been issued by the Disasters Emergency Committee.

The 7.8-magnitude earthquake has left more than 3,600 people dead and a million potentially displaced. Many residents in Kathmandu have been left without shelter for a third night as hospitals struggle to cope with the injured and dead.

The DEC is providing live updates showing how its members, including Oxfam, Save the Children, the British Red Cross and Christian Aid, are responding to the crisis.
