Eagle cam captures record-breaking flight from top of Burj Khalifa

An eagle has flown from the world's tallest building in a record-breaking flight to raise awareness about wildlife conservation.

The eagle, named Darshan, was equipped with a small camera on its back and flew from the top of Dubai's Burj Khalifa skyscraper.

Freedom Conservation, which organised the flight, claims it is the highest-ever recorded bird flight from a man-made structure.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the flight from 2,722-feet was in collaboration with SOS (Save our Species) and UNESCO.

Darshan is one of the threatened species represented in the campaign. The eagle has previously flown from the Eiffel Tower and St Paul's Cathedral.

The Director of Freedom Conservation Ronald Menzel told the BBC: "This eagle is a signal that things can change. It was once endangered, but after conservation programmes it is not so endangered."
