15 hot new hotel openings for 2015

Updated

2015 is set to see some of the hottest new hotels of the decade opening in world-class holiday destinations.

If you thought the openings of Shangri-La at The Shard and Andy Murray's Cromlix House were some of the best new hotels of 2014, wait until you see what will hit the hotel world next year. Visitors to Barcelona, Paris and Manchester can stay at beautifully converted buildings, including Picasso's studio, an old bank and the former residence of fashion designer Pierre Cardin.

But the most anticipated conversion of all is New York's The Knickerbocker, which dates back to 1906 and is a Manhattan landmark, first a hotel before becoming an office building, residences and a hotel again in 2015.

In Italy, JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa will open its doors in Venice, bringing a world-class urban resort on a private island to the Venetian lagoon. Guests will have 16 acres to explore and can relax in the city's largest spa.

Portugal's Douro Valley will welcome Six Senses' first European resort in summer 2015 - and Six Senses Douro Valley is stunning. Touched with the romance of 19th century architecture combined with contemporary interiors, guests will also be wowed by its breathtaking setting.

And families heading for Florida will have a new place to play and stay. LEGOLAND Hotel lands at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort in time for the summer holidays, offering swashbuckling Pirate Rooms, a regal Kingdom Rooms and rip-roaring Adventure Rooms to let your children's imaginations run wild.

These are the 15 new hotels we can't wait to check out next year...
