A train passenger seemingly lost in her own world almost bumped into the Queen as she hurried to exit the station at King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The woman walks right into the Queen's entourage, a member of which then turns around and appears to briefly explain what's going on.

It seems the woman was distracted by the members of the press hanging around waiting to take pictures of Her Majesty as she arrived at the station.

As she stares at them wondering why they're there, she almost knocks into the subject of their attention at the same time.

The Queen caught the Great Northern Thameslink train from London King's Cross and enjoyed a first class seat on her journey to Norfolk, where she will enjoy Christmas at her Sandringham estate, reports the Daily Telegraph.

It is thought other members of the royal family will soon join her, including her husband Prince Phillip, son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, and her grandson Prince Harry.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly set to spend the holidays at their newly-renovated home, Anmer Hall, also on the Sandringham estate, and will join the rest of the family for Christmas Day.

According to the Daily Mail, Sandringham has been owned by the royal family since 1862, when it was purchased by Queen Victoria at the request of her son Edward, then Prince of Wales.

Set in 20,000 acres, it is a favoured holiday home of the Queen, and lies within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
