A woman who tried to take a selfie with a nice monkey found out the monkey wasn't so nice after all - as it yanked her hair.

The tourist can be seen trying to make the most of a photo opportunity in Bali, and is seen happily smiling for the camera, apparently unaware the animal is already reaching for her hair.

As the realisation sinks in as to what the monkey is doing, the woman attempts to get away with an expression of pure terror.

A number of Reddit users posted comments suggesting what the monkey was thinking. One wrote: "I was trying to demonstrate my value by picking the bugs out of her hair, and she totally flipped out."

Another said: "I just wanted to touch her hair...then she, like, just totally freaked out...so then I got freaked out, cause I'm a monkey... so then we were BOTH totally freaking out!"

And one said: "Monkey is like 'I charge for selfie'!"

Back in April, a squirrel went 'nuts' after being included in a tourist's selfie - and attacked him after saying 'cheese'.

Reddit user supplenupple was taking a walk in Tampa, Florida, when he spotted the critter and thought it would be nice to take a photo.

He said: "I approached it making a clicking noise with my tongue; phone drawn.

"When I got close enough, the squirrel actually tried grabbing my phone. I shook it off, then snapped this photo."

He added: Next thing I knew, the squirrel was on my shoulder, then under my shirt, and then hanging off my back!' he said.
