Cheap ski holidays: Best value resorts for 2014/15

Updated

Bargain-hunting skiers looking for a cheap ski holiday this winter can enjoy affordable resort costs, budget flights and good value accommodation across Europe.

Bulgarian resort Bansko remains the best value ski resort for British skiers, according to Post Office Travel and its annual Ski Resort Report shows that prices for ski equipment, lift passes, ski school, meals and drinks come to a total of just £872 for a family of four, while luxury accommodation can be found for as little as £99 per person per week.

While the strong pound against the euro makes many European resorts more affordable, you can make your money stretch farther in some of the lesser-known spots of Europe.

Forget the glamorous French and Swiss resorts of Meribel, Verbier and Val d'Isere if you're looking for the best value as even if you find affordable travel with a budget airline, you'll still have to contend with high resort costs.

Andorra is firmly on the budget skier's map this season as prices have dropped nearly a quarter since last year. It also boasts duty-free status and is home to one of Europe's most respected ski schools.

Slovenia and Finland are two of the surprising places for a cheap ski holiday - and offer breathtaking views too! If you're thinking of crossing the pond on a North American ski break, there is one resort in Canada that allows you to save £££s compared to the most popular resorts of Vail, Whistler and Banff.

Check out our pick of the best value ski resorts for 2014/15 with the help of Post Office Travel.
