Lovers of all things flat packed can now spend the night at an Ikea store for just £6.20.

The Swedish furniture firm announced that it had teamed up with Airbnb to offer one-night-only sleepovers at its Sydney, Australia store later at the end of August.

According to The Huffington Post, three lucky groups will have the chance to stay in three 'rooms'.

The Airbnb listing reads that the accommodation offers 'plenty of storage', access to a kitchen, dining room and kids' hang-out area. Guests will enjoy a free breakfast and get to keep the sheets they sleep on.

Sydney Morning Herald reports that the stay is free but guests must pay the Airbnb admin fee of $11 (£6.20).

To win a night at Ikea Tempe in Sydney entrants have to tell Airbnb why they would like the chance to stay.

In March, Ikea said it was planning to launch a chain of budget hotels in the UK.

The furniture giant teamed up with Marriott International to launch a new global brand called Moxy Hotels.

A spokesman for Marriott said that a "Moxy Hotel on Cropper Street in Liverpool is in the pipeline". Cropper Street is in the middle of the £160 million Central Village development near Liverpool Central Station, which has been stalled.

A recent planning application reads: "The building will incorporate a combination of uses to include one or more of the following: retail, financial and professional services, restaurant and cafe, drinking establishments, hot food take-away, office, hotel, casino and live music venue and nightclub."
