It appears there may have been too many carbs before Marbs - as Towie stars grounded an Easyjet plane as it was 200 kilos overweight.

The show's stars had so much excess luggage, their Easyjet plane was unable to take off at Southend Airport on Saturday.

Cast members, including Arg, Ricky Rayment, Lauren Pope, Bobby Cole Norris and Jasmin Walia overpacked so much for the 10-day getaway, the plane was stuck on the runway.

Bobby took to Twitter while on the plane to share his excitement at the trip, writing: "Marbs we're coming for ya!!"

But, according to the Mirror, flight attendants had to offer £100, a taxi service to Luton airport and tickets on a later flight for any volunteers willing to get off.

Four women eventually agreed to the deal half an hour later, and the plane was safe to continues its journey.

The Daily Mail reports that a flight attendant said: "In 20 years, we have never had an incident where this has happened before.

"But then, we've never had TOWIE on board before."

Jasmine had reportedly packed three suitcases while Bobby was 4kg over - which he claimed was down to hairspray.

A spokesman for Easyjet said: "In the event that a flight does exceed its weight limit, we ask for passengers to volunteer to transfer to another flight which is what happened on this occasion.

"The safety and welfare of our passengers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority."
