Painting of Malala sold for £49k

%VIRTUAL-SkimlinksPromo%An oil painting of schoolgirl and campaigner Malala Yousafzai was sold for just under £49,000 at an auction in New York today.

The 16-year-old schoolgirl, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for education for girls, has said she will donate all the proceeds from the sale to Nigerian charities focused on education and advocacy for females.
