Where's hot in April?

April is the perfect time to take a holiday somewhere hot and sunny, so if your looking for ideas and inspiration you've come to the right place. Europe is warming up nicely, and Spring offers the chance to see many popular summer resorts in their full glory but without the crowds: the sun is out, the spring flowers are blooming, the days are longer and many resorts are opening their beach parasols for the first time.

There are a lot of advantages to travelling to the Med for some sunshine during this month: Croatia's Istrian Coast and the islands of Greece are particularly beautiful at this time of year, and as it's only the very beginning of the season, prices tend to be a lot more reasonable, and the rays of the sunshine are still gentle enough to warm you up rather than put you into meltdown.

For anyone looking to travel further afield, many long-haul destinations are also worth considering. Bali is balmy (it's the dry season now), and Mauritius is also a good bet as it's the end of the summer season so there are bargains to be had.
