Britain's most extraordinary places to stay
It's official. Brits are no longer happy with a run of the mill hotel and want quirkier, more unusual places to stay when they want to take a UK break.
A new survey has revealed that more than three quarters (77 per cent) of British holidaymakers crave somewhere extraordinary or unusual when booking an overnight stay.
In a Booking.com poll of more than 2,000 people, 70 per cent said they would be most excited about a stay in a castle or another historical building, with 13 per cent claiming they like to live out a childhood fantasy when holidaying in the UK.
The hotel booking website responded by putting together the top ten most surprising stays in Britain, including a llama B&B with real life llamas, an apartment boat based on the Titanic and a refurbished railway station which allows you to spend the night in a restored train carriage.
