A Chinese billionaire and a French former owner of a chateau are missing after a helicopter they were flying crashed in the Dordogne River.

Tycoon Lam Kok and former owner of the Chateau de La Riviere, James Gregoire, were pictured posing in front of Chateau de La Riviere, following the sale of the property.

According to Sky News, Gregoire sold the Bordeaux chateau to Hong Kong-based Lam Kok for £25 million before they took a helicopter flight, piloted by Gregoire, to see the property from the sky.

Rescue workers and divers look out from a boat during a rescue operation at the site of a helicopter crash in which a Chinese billionaire, his son, and the French former owner of the Chateau de La Riviere disappeared, on December 20, 2013, in the Dordogne river near Lugon. The deal which was concluded on December 19 for Chinese billionaire Lam Kok to buy a Bordeaux vineyard, le Château de La Rivière, turned to tragedy today after the helicopter which the billionaire and the vineyard's French former owner James Gregoire were using to fly over the property crashed into the Dordogne river. The Daily Mail reports that a major search operation was launched using emergency helicopters and around 100 officers on foot.

No trace of the helicopter has been found.
