Qantas cabin crew upset with 'impractical' new uniforms modelled by Miranda Kerr

Updated

Qantas flight attendants will be wearing new uniforms from 12 December - but not all the staff are happy with the 'sexy' new look.

The uniforms were created by Australian designer Martin Grant, and were launched by Qantas ambassador Miranda Kerr back in September.

They feature a snug-fit colour-block shift dress, a stylish trench coat, and a trouser suit.

But, according to news.com.au, some older flight attendants aren't so comfortable in the dresses. One said: "The uniforms are really tight and they are simply not practical for the very physical job we have to do."

Another complained: "The uniform looks fantastic on Miranda Kerr but unfortunately we don't all look like her."

But a Qantas spokeswoman said that several crew members had been on a panel that gave input into the design, and that the new uniform had been successfully trialled by 75 members of staff over a number of weeks.

According to the Daily Mail, the spokeswoman said: "The feedback we've had from staff on the new uniform has been overwhelmingly positive.

"There are bound to be some adjustments needed as we roll out multiple pieces to 12,000 people, but it's been going very smoothly and there's a lot of excitement."
