Tesco
Buy online at Tesco Wine and there are a host of offers available. If you plan on buying in bulk, their half price offer is a winner. There's a sizeable range of wines (84 at time of writing) in the deal, where you can pick up a case at 50 per cent of the standard retail price. These include Rawnsley Estate Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre, now £32.94 per case, Pouilly Fume Feuille de Vignes for £54 per case, and Chanoine Freres Vintage Champagne for £107.94 per case. That might seem expensive, but if you're a bit of a connoisseur, half price is an offer not to be missed. You can also pick up mixed cases at half price, with an extra 15 per cent off if you buy two, and there are similar deals on single bottles too.

Ideal for those that are not used to picking the right wines for the right occasion, Marks & Spencer has a range of festive cases to take the searching out of your wine buying. Mixed cases of six sparkling wines, or full 12-bottle cases for the festive season are on offer, along with a 'wine for every course' case to make the perfect accompaniment to a special Christmas dinner. All their festive cases come with a 25 per cent discount, and if you use the code 'freewine' on an order over £100, you get free nominated day delivery, but there will be high demand in the lead-up to Christmas so don't leave it until the last minute.

Virgin Wines
For anyone keen to explore the world of fine wines, the Virgin Wines Discovery Club has a great deal on offer. For newcomers only, you can pick up a half price case of either red, white or mixed wines for just £47.88 - which works out at just £3.99 a bottle with a saving of up to £54. Aside from the introductory offer, you will save at least 20 per cent on future purchases.

Asda
Asda recently launched their own online Wine Shop and while the special Christmas offers have yet to materialise, you can still pick up some decent wines at good prices, particularly if you're buying by the case. As well as 'Discover the brand' cases of six, where you'll get a variety of bottles from a particular winemaker, there are all whites, reds or mixed six-bottle cases to be had starting at around the £50 mark, and there's free delivery on all online orders.

Aside from the various online offers and seasonal deals, it's always worth checking out the likes of Aldi and Lidl for great wine and champagne prices. The budget supermarkets regularly trump some of the world's biggest food and drinks names in taste tests, and their wines are no different. In fact, Aldi's £12.99 Champagne Veuve Monsigny recently achieved a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge 2013, beating the likes of Veuve Clicquot's La Grande Dame 2004 (£130 a bottle), so their offerings are definitely not to be sniffed at, particularly if you're hoping to save money this Christmas.
