Charlie Sheen cancels family trip after mechanical difficulties with private jet

Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Denise Richards were forced to cancel a trip with their two daughters when his private jet experienced "mechanical issues".

Actor Sheen tweeted a snap of the family on board the aircraft and wrote: "on Tarmac aboard 'Air Sheen' having mechanical issues no joke. with my modern family. prettiest gals in the world!"

He soon updated his post and said: "We encountered a mechanical diversion that rendered the trip potentially life threatening.

"For a myriad of reasons that are both practical and ethereal and completely rooted in a gut check 'safety first' code, I will NOT fly my family my friends or myself on any other aircraft."

The Anger Management star apologised to Hotel El Gonzo in Mexico for not arriving on time to attend an event.
