A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing when the pilot suffered a heart attack in midair.

CNN reports that United Airlines flight 1603 was on its way from Houston to Seattle, when it was diverted to Boise, Idaho at 8pm on Thursday.

Paramedics boarded the plane as soon as it landed, and took the pilot to hospital.

The Boeing 737 airliner and its passengers then waited at the airport until the airline flew in another pilot from San Francisco.

There have not yet been any reports on the pilot's condition.
