Charity sends dad with brain tumour to Disneyland Paris as final wish

A terminally ill father-of-two has spoken of his gratitude to a small charity that paid for his family to go on holiday at Disneyland Paris.

Stephen May was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour last year and was able to enjoy a luxury break at the French family attraction with his wife and two daughters thanks to charity Dream-A-Way.

Speaking to This is Plymouth, the 28-year-old, from Keyham, Devon, said: "When I found out I had a terminal brain tumour my two dying wishes were to get married to Rachel and take the girls to Disneyland.

"The trip to Disneyland has made memories that will last forever. And at the moment my tumour is OK too. Two days before we went to Disneyland my scan results showed that it had got smaller and I was doing better than expected. I'm off chemotherapy now and the doctors are monitoring the tumour every three months."

Stephen's aunt, Lesley May, got in touch with Dream-A-Way to organise the trip and said the charity was "just brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them. They are just totally selfless."

Stephen and his family were pictured posing with Mickey, Minnie and other Disney characters at the resort during the trip.
