London's first cat cafe opening soon

Remember when we told you a few months back that London could be getting its first cat cafe? Well, planning permission has been approved and cat lover Lauren Pears will be opening Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium in Shoreditch soon.

According to the BBC, Pears turned to crowd funding to raise the £109,000 needed for the project.

Tower Hamlets Council approved the cafe, which will open on Bethnal Green Road and have in-house cats for visitors to play with while they have a drink.

Cat cafes are popular in Japan, China and Austria. The Emporium will be the first to open in London.

Speaking to Metro, Pears said: "I feel a lot of pressure to make sure it's the ultimate cat café experience.

"The cat enthusiasts of London are really getting behind me and I think they will be what makes it an amazing experience in the end."

Will you be visiting the cat cafe? Leave a comment and let us know.
