Video: Wingsuit jumper goes scarily close to the ground in the Alps
A wingsuit jumper has given us all an unnervingly real experience of how it feels to take part in the daredevil activity.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the action man in the video is adventure sports enthusiast Chris McDougal, who appears to fly extremely close to the cliff edge as he glides over the Alps - giving the viewer an amazing bird's eye view at the same time.
Wingsuit jumping is the sport of flying the human body through the air using a special jumpsuit called a wingsuit - sometimes also known as a flying squirrel or birdman suit - which adds surface area to the human body to enable a significant increase in lift.
A wing suit flight normally ends with a parachute opening, so a wingsuit can safely be flown from any point that provides sufficient altitude for flight and parachute deployment (normally a skydiving drop aircraft or BASE jump exit point).
But, as you can imagine, the sport is potentially very dangerous.
Back in mid-August, the stuntman who parachuted into the London 2012 opening ceremony as James Bond was killed while wing suit flying near Martigny, Switzerland.
According to the BBC, police said it appeared Mark Sutton, 42, from Surrey, had died after crashing into a ridge of rock.
