VAT action day plea to food outlets

Publicans, restaurateurs and food service operators are being urged to cut their prices by 7.5% during a day of action to highlight the benefits of reducing VAT in the hospitality industry.

A campaign backed by companies including JD Wetherspoon, Brains, Punch Taverns, Pizza Hut, Subway and Roadchef is backing so-called Tax Parity Day on September 25.
