Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden has called Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary a "scumbag" after the budget airline attempted to charge him an extra £150 for not printing his boarding pass and carrying extra luggage when he tried to check in for a flight to Spain at Liverpool Airport.

The singer tweeted: "had so much i wanted to say about my ryanair experience today but ill keep it simple. MICHAEL O LEARY you're a scumbag who exploits ....pt 1

"pt 2 hard working people and tricks them out of their money with your ridiculous loop holes. you are stealing from your own people!

"ryanair. i had no access to printer for my boarding pass. cost of them to do it at check in..£70... my golf bag 4kgs over weight....£80

"so instead i got the train from liverpool london to fly with an honest airline. cost more in the end but its the principle of it."

After reading McFadden's tweet, Ryanair hit back with a sarcastic response and told the Daily Mail: "We're surprised that Mr McFadden, having agreed to print his boarding card, couldn't manage this super-complex task, which is accomplished daily by over 80m passengers annually."

Brian was reportedly on his way to Spain for a golf holiday.
