A Saudi prince spent a whopping 15 million euros (£12,832,000) closing an area of Disneyland Paris to the public so he could host a private party.

Prince Fahd al-Saud was at the theme park, near the French capital, for just three days from 22 May and racked up the huge bill on booking entire areas of the park to celebrate his degree.

Euro Disney, which runs the theme park, told AFP that Prince Fahd had around 60 guests and booked tailor-made events involving "rare Disney characters".

According to the Daily Telegraph, the "rare" characters included Roger and Jessica Rabbit and the Aristocats.

There was special security for the prince at the park too.

"The prince had the park to himself early morning and after the official closing time at 11pm," Julien Guedon, editor of Disney Gazette told the Daily Telegraph.

BBC News reports that Euro Disney said Disneyland Paris has not made any profits since it opened in 1992. It lost 120.9m euros in the first half of the 2012 financial year.
