Camera lost in Maui five years ago is washed up in Taiwan
A camera that was lost in Maui in 2007 has been washed up more than 5,200 miles away in Taiwan - and the memory card is still working perfectly.
The Daily Mail reports that an employee of China Airlines found the camera resting in the sand while walking along a beach in Taiwan.
Although it was covered in barnacles and sand, the memory card was still inside - and it contained dozens of pictures taken during a diving trip in Kannapali, in August 2007.
Bruce Chen, General Manager of the China Airlines Honolulu Branch is now on a mission to reunite the camera with its owner - who he believes to be a blonde woman who appears in several of the photographs.
If he can find the camera's owner, China Airlines are offering a free ticket for the them to come and collect the camera from Taiwan.
Mr Chen told Hawaii News Now: "I am not sure if this lady is living in Hawaii or Mainland US. I don't know."
He is now trying his best to spread news of the camera, so that the owner can be be reunited with her long-lost holiday snaps.
