Animal activists are up in arms after it emerged that Pippa Middleton went on a hunting trip in Belgium that saw six boar and nine deer killed.

The Duchess of Cambridge's sister allegedly went on the shooting trip in Gerpinnes, Belgium, in woods owned by the country's richest man, Albert Frere.

Pippa joined a party of 20 people on the trip, which was organised by the billionaire's grandsons, William, 27, and Cedric, 28 - probably the most eligible bachelors in the country.

But animal rights charity Viva gave her a dressing down for going along.

Spokesman Justin Kerswell told The Sun: "It's a shame she's so desperate to be royal by association that she's now seemingly aping their hunting bloodlust. There is nothing classy about shooting terrified wild animals for sport."

The League Against Cruel Sports added: "It's sad to see someone in such an influential position indulging in this cruelty."

Pippa has recently been enjoying a jet-set lifestyle; last September American millionaire Andre Balazs flew her to his Sunset Beach boutique hotel on the exclusive Shelter Island during her trip to New York.

And, according to the Daily Mail, last April she was a guest at a party in Paris thrown by French fashion entrepreneur Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, also known to be a keen hunter.
