Kylie enjoys the Bondi sunshine

Kylie Minogue is enjoying the Australian summer sunshine as she prepares for Sydney's New Year's Eve Spectacular.

Yesterday she tweeted a picture of herself posing on a balcony, with the caption: "Sun was out in Bondi today..."

And she obviously can't wait for the celebrations to begin, as earlier today she tweeted: "One more sleep to go".

Kylie arrived in Sydney on Friday and, according to 7News, she has been busy with last-minute preparations for the event.

As creative ambassador, Kylie developed the event's theme 'embrace' and chose the colour scheme and soundtrack.

She told reporters: "It's so exciting to be seeing signage in the streets. I keep telling anyone who'll listed: 'Look! Look up there!" I can't wait."

She also explained that she designed the 'embrace' theme to mean to different things to different people.

She said: "I love the concept of embrace. It can mean so many different things, and I'm looking forward to embracing new possibilities for the next year."

She admitted that she would also be embracing her boyfriend Andrés Velencoso, as well as her family who are coming to Sydney for the spectacular.

The New Year's Eve fireworks display is set to be even more impressive than usual this year. The Daily Mail reports that Kylie will be honoured with a specially commissioned musical note shaped explosion. There will also be a koala, an octopus and hand images to light up the sky.
