Ex-City watchdog switches sides

Hector Sants - the former head of the City watchdog - is to switch sides as he becomes the first point of contact for regulators at controversy-hit bank Barclays.

Mr Sants, who stepped down from the Financial Services Authority in June, will become Barclays' head of compliance in a newly-created role at the bank.
