These Boris bikes at an East London hire station are proving very popular with the locals - the local pigeon population that is!

The row of bikes has proven the perfect perch for the birds that have clearly marked their territory with splattered droppings to deter any humans from riding them.

According to the Sun, the droppings have made the bikes completely useless for commuters with every single bike at the station left in its lock-up.

There are around 8,000 bikes currently for rent at 570 stations across London in the Barclays hire cycle scheme championed by Mayor Boris Johnson.

At least it goes to show that everyone loves a Boris bike!
