Government u-turn on attack victim payouts

Ministers have axed plans to scrap compensation payments to victims of minor criminal assaults in the latest government U-turn.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) wanted to limit Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme payments so only victims suffering serious injuries could receive cash.
