Rolls-Royce replaces Spirit of Ecstasy for London Olympics

Updated

The Rolls Royces used as part of last night's closing ceremony for the Olympics were the first of their cars in 108 years not to carry the traditional Spirit of Ecstasy badges.

Instead, a bespoke badge was designed to convey the spirit of London 2012. The three Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupés that carried the British musicians on to the stage featured a unique grille badge with a patriotic Union Flag replacing the traditional flowing gown of the "Graceful Little Goddess".
