According the The Sunday Times, people who search for holidays using Apple computers pay more than PC users.

The online holiday broker Orbitz has revealed that it presents more expensive hotel options to searchers who use Apple Macs.

They say that this is because Mac users typically pay up to 30 per cent more for rooms than PC users, and are 40 per cent more likely to book four- or five-star properties.

Although Orbitz insist that it is not showing the same rooms at different prices, it admits to showing more expensive options to those who use a Mac.

However, The Sunday Times found that a a MacBook search for a two-night stay in Miami Beach in July was 11 per cent more expensive than the same search on a Windows laptop.

Rival travel sites Expedia and Travelocity said that their prices were not influenced by the type of computer that customers use.
