Last night two helicopters that were filming footage for the Olympic Games treated onlookers to a rare treat as they flew through the middle of London's Tower Bridge.

The helicopters had been filming along the Thames for the last couple of days and some onlookers had been tipped off by Twitter than a flypast was scheduled for 6.45pm.

A large helicopter, with a Union Jack on the back, was followed by a smaller filming helicopter.

It swooped down low over London Bridge, and approached Tower Bridge - which had been cleared of people - flying through the gap between the walkway and the road. They then flew back for a second run, and returning for a third and final time.

Tower Bridge was cleared of people before the stunt took place, and a harbour master boat moored up to stop other boats getting in the way.
