Holidays are often thought of as a time for calm and restoration... but a new study shows that half of British couples row about them - before they've even gone anywhere.

More than half of couples bicker about the destination, while 37% argue over the often painful booking process.

And, according to the study of 2,000 adults by Ebookers, two thirds of couples end up arguing at some point on holiday, while one in four are snapping at each other by the third day of the getaway.

And the cause of the rows? The biggest factors were money and how much time to spend together, according to the Daily Mail.

Men get most annoyed if their partner checks other people out on the beach, while women say alcohol is the biggest fight factor on holiday.

However, all that release of frustration could be worth it, as 56% said they returned form their holiday feeling their relationship was stronger than before.

You can't possibly feel the need to argue at one of these dreamy Caribbean destinations (surely?):
