Six Japanese tourists who became trapped in the Columbus monument in Barcelona for six hours have had to be rescued by firefighters.

The tourists were stranded at the top of the the famous monument for five hours, and had to be reached by crane after being left stranded 60m above the ground.

The incident caused a tourist attraction all by itself. As the video shows, crowds gathered around the statue to watch the scene unfold, cheering as firefighters came to the rescue...
