BBC plans launch of iTunes competitor

The BBC plans to launch a radical new scheme which will allow viewers to download and keep old and new BBC programmes, in a service it hopes will compete with iTunes, according to PaidContent.

There has been no confirmation of prices, but reports suggest that the average download charge will be £1.89 per show.
