There's nothing worse than getting Delhi belly when one's abroad: just ask the Queen.

For the past 60 years, she's been travelling to some of the most far-flung places on the planet - and has managed to stave off the tummy trouble by sticking to some very sensible rules.

Her top tips for staying off the throne while away from home? Never eat salads, shellfish or watermelon.

Her travel tips were revealed to MPs in the House of Commons by Father of the House Sir Peter Tapsell, who says he once asked a royal courtier how the queen coped with her hectic travel schedule without falling ill.

"The bedrock of her success has been the constitution. Not our constitution but hers," Sir Peter told the House.

According to the Health Protection Agency, Egypt is the place you're most likely to pick up a tummy bug when abroad, with India coming in second and Thailand third. Morocco, Kenya, Tunisia, Cyprus and Mexico also feature in the top ten.
