Privacy: what can you expect?

Google made a big change to its information sharing policy yesterday, in a move that the EU has said is contrary to the law (Google's lawyers disagree).

Basically if you log into a Google account of any description, the company will now share your data across its sites - Google+, YouTube, Gmail, Blogger. With this and the controversy Facebook has caused over privacy in the past, you can't help wonder: what are these people up to?
