Virgin Atlantic cabin crew have been crowned the best looking out of all the airlines' flight attendants.

The Virgin staff scored a whopping 21% of votes, while Thomas Cook cabin crew were a close second with 19%. Low-cost carrier Easyjet even managed to beat British Airways into the third place, according to TNT Magazine.

The poll was carried out as part of a larger survey into British holidaymakers' satisfaction rates by flight comparison website, JetCost.

But it was more bad news for Ryanair, whose staff were voted the least attractive of the bunch, with just 5% of the votes. The airline already had a tough week after the ASA banned two of its adverts for being sexist.

Levels of flight attendant attractiveness came out as very important to many people questioned, with 57% saying they thought it gave a good impression of the airline.

Meanwhile, 23% said good-looking staff made for a more pleasant in-flight experience.

It's not the first Virgin Atlantic cabin crew have been crowned most beautiful - back in February 2011, a poll of 1,000 people by the Business Travel and Meetings Show found that Sir Richard Branson's airline received a whopping 53% of the vote, with no other company coming even close.

It's no surprise the airline comes top in the looks department; Virgin places an emphasis on a sleek and stylish image, with its recruitment website once stating: "You'll be the face of the airline. As such, your grooming should always be immaculate - even after a long, tiring flight."

Their TV ad campaigns also feature an extremely attractive cast, and faces of the airline have previously included glamour pusses like Dita Von Teese.
