Rail bosses abandon bonus gravy train

Updated

Network Rail boss Sir David Higgins (pic, left hand side) claims he and other managers will forgo any bonus payouts this year. So Higgins, on a basic salary of £560,000, will not pick up a £340,000 bonus.

However this decision by the rail fatcats was only made after pressure from government and the public, including opposition from transport secretary Justine Greening.
