Changes to criminal compensation

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme is set to be overhauled with new limitations to how criminals can claim compensation for being of victims of crime.

Justice secretary Ken Clarke wants to reform the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme after annual costs trebled to almost £300m since 1997, according to a report by BBC News today.
